As the Chief Nursing Officer, Darlene is responsible for overseeing the nursing department and clinical operations of the programs at TaraVista and MiraVista. Throughout her career, including her time as chief nursing officer and nursing director at TaraVista and in her previous roles at UMass Memorial Health Alliance, Darlene has distinguished herself as both a nurse and a nurse leader.
Darlene has dedicated her career to the field of psychiatric nursing, thanks in part to the mentorship of nurse leadership in her past roles. As a result, she carries the mission of mentorship forward and implements a participatory management style that fosters a culture focused on delivering patient-centered care through collaboration among all members of the TaraVista team.
In her role as Chief Nursing Officer, Darlene is responsible for overseeing the nursing departments at both TaraVista and MiraVista and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. She sets the strategic direction for nursing, developing policies and procedures, managing nursing staff, and collaborating with other clinical departments to improve patient outcomes. She is actively involved in recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating nurses and is a strong advocate for the nursing department, ensuring that the nursing team has the resources, support, and guidance needed to provide the highest quality care to patients.
Despite her managerial duties, her “heart” still beats passionately each day as she works alongside the team to provide quality care to patients and their families. Darlene holds a Master’s Degree and Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
